Three Best Friends Saturday Triple Feature!!

I know I’m starting way too many series ideas on here, but this one wasn’t completely my idea. Although I do approve so hard. Every other weekend Scott, Aaron, and I have plans to watch a triple feature. Each of us will choose one movie that fits in with a specific theme. Knowing how much the three of us love movie marathons, I think this is a tradition might last through time:

Because we’re the three best friends that anyone could have!! We’re the three best friends that anyone could have!!…

The Attendees:

Scott

Aaron

My little brother, Weston

Sam

Heather and Luke

Ben

And this week’s theme: Movies that have been remade!

True Grit
Directed by Henry Hathaway
Starring John Wayne as Rooster Cogburn, Kim Darby as Maddie Ross, and Glen Campbell as La Boeuf
128 min., 1969

Synopsis: Maddie’s dad is killed by a Bad Guy so she hires Rooster Cogburn – a man with true grit – to track him down. La Boeuf is after the Bad Guy, too, for a $500 reward. Three sassy, tough as nails, firecrackers team up together to bring justice to the wild west.

A few words:

Scott: Turns out Rooster Cogburn is more than just what I named my right fist.

Luke: Turns out Rooster Cogburn is more than what I named my penis.

Ben: When you guys told me his name, I thought you said Rooster “cockburn,” which is why I had to ask you again.
Scott: That’s a whole different character.

Weston: I don’t know…
Whitney: did you like it?
Weston: Yeah.

Aaron: Now I want to steal a kiss from Maddie Ross.
(He’s planning on dressing up as Maddie for Halloween)

Heather: I look forward to seeing Aaron in Gaucho pants for Halloween. My favorite line was “I don’t like the way you make conversation.” That was my favorite.

Sam: That movie suited me right down to the ground.

The Ladykillers
Directed: Alexander Mackendrick
Starring: Obi Wan Kenobi and Dr. Strangelove
1955, 91 min.

Synopsis: Obi Wan plays a professor with bad teeth who leads a bunch of rough and tough criminals to an old lady they plan to use in their heist. Unfortunately, the criminals underestimate how savvy and authoritative the old lady is. They have a lot more to deal with than just adult diapers and dentures! woah boy!

Comments?:

Scott: I approve of the low amount of loose stool jokes.

Heather (after a little nap): I had to sacrifice this movie for the next.

Sam: I don’t know if anyone could kill that old lady. Not even Chuck Norris.

Aaron: Now I want to steal a kiss from Mrs. Lopsided.

Ben: No….I’m gonna stay buttoned up.

Weston: That lady’s unbeatable.

Luke: Two thumbs up.

Three Men and a Cradle
Aka: 3 Hommes et un Couffin
Directed: Coline Serreau
Starring: A bunch of French guys and a French baby
1985, 106 min.

Synopsis: It’s basically just like it sounds. Three men are stuck taking care of a baby and wackiness ensues. Wackiness including drug smuggling and bare chested dancing, for example.

What do you think?:

Aaron: Now I got six months worth of cake eating to catch up on.

Scott: Where’s the Gute?

Heather: My favorite part was the pregnant man.

Ben: I guess that’s how they do things in France.

Sam: Adults in cribs?? What has this world come to??

Weston: I can’t believe the drugs were in the babies diaper!

Luke: Less blahblah more googoogaagaa.
